Sermon Series-“Running From God”
Happy fall, y’all! There’s something about a new season that reminds us of God’s faithfulness, and I’m excited about what He has ahead for us at Cornerstone!
One of the things I’m especially looking forward to is our new 4-week sermon series beginning Sunday, September 20, where we’ll journey together through the book of Jonah. It’s a familiar story about a prophet, a storm, a great fish, and a city called Nineveh. But Jonah is about far more than a man who got swallowed by a fish. It’s a story about running, rebellion, repentance, mercy, and the relentless grace of God.
Over these four weeks, we’ll discover that Jonah’s story is surprisingly close to our own. Sometimes we run from what God calls us to do. Sometimes we resist when His plans don’t match ours. And sometimes we’re happy to receive God’s grace ourselves while struggling to extend that same grace to others. Yet even when Jonah runs, God keeps pursuing.
Join us beginning September 20th for “Running from God” as we walk through Jonah and encounter a God whose mercy reaches rebellious prophets, undeserving cities and people like us. You can run from God, you just can’t outrun His grace. We look forward to having you join us!
